Selecting the Veil: Different Types of Veils

I'm sorry for not posting sooner. I know it's the holidays and all, but I was actually hardly in the country! Oopsies.

We were busy travelling Europe before the busy planning begins.

On the proper note, I am here not to talk about Europe but veils!

I've always found veils interesting, it's something pretty unnoticeable and most of the time, it seems like people don't put much thought into the veils until the day the bridal studio asks "So which type of veil do you want?" However, did you know that there are actually many types of veils? Gosh! Such a hassle!

Here's the difference (based on length) - and I am not listing it all, of course.

Shoulder-Length Veil

This veil is usually from around the shoulders to the middle of the back. It does not cover the gown and is usually rather light.

Elbow Length Veil

The elbow length veil usually stops right before the skirt of the gown, covering the necessary portions of the cover and creating a nice silhouette of the bride. From the weddings I've attended, this seem to be a popular choice.

A recent example of a wedding that shows this sort of veil? Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding. Well, it was popular before that.

Ballet Veil

This veil flows anywhere from the knees to the ankles, just like an adult ballet dress. It allows the bride to dance without the fear of tripping.

There's more kinds of veils but these are the ones I would consider.

In fact, I would love to have something in between these two below.

Love the bow yet love the head band. I guess I have to see which matches the (still non-existent) gown!
